The five-year mark for the Women’s Tennis Coaching Association is just around the corner with a bright future slated for the WTCA. We recently announced our partnership with the USPTA. With our leading partners Accutennis, Madalux, Pro Bar, and several others right behind us, things are going very well for the WTCA community. Whispers that our founder and CEO Sarah Stone may be returning to her homeland are correct with Sarah departing California for the land down under Sunday morning.
Stone who is now a dual US/Australian citizen is excited about the move. “After ten years of being in America and missing home for a good eight years of that time, I decided in 2019 I would fly home as much as I could to get the best of both worlds. Five flights home in 2019 didn’t quite do the trick, so I with that, I recently made the massive decision to move my base to Melbourne and frequently travel back to America to continue my vital work with the WTCA,” Sarah Stone said.
Stone has the full support of WTCA President Ann Grossman. “The WTCA is truly a global organization. International events have taken place in Paris, Eastbourne, and Melbourne. I know how much Sarah enjoys being in Australia so I’m thrilled she is moving back to be with her family and friends. Our goal as an organization is to have a presence across the world. Sarah spending more time in Australia allows us to support the Asian market amongst other areas in coaching female tennis players,” Grossman stated.
Sarah will remain at the helm of the WTCA with big things planned for the next 12 months and beyond. The WTCA is yet to announce the date for the 2020 conference; the US Open is said to me making a decision about the status of the 2020 championships mid-June. The WTCA has several options for a fall or winter conference, strongly leaning towards a Florida conference in partnership with the USPTA. Stand by for more details, but be rest assured it’s business as usual for the WTCA. We can’t wait to see all of our friends at our next live event!
