FAQ’s

How long is the membership period?

WTCA membership is a 12 month membership recurring from the date of sign up. You know exactly what you get when you sign up, we don’t mess with pro rating or coaches mission out on any educational time.

Do you have to be a coach to join the WTCA as a member?

NO. We welcome everybody who is involved in women’s tennis to join our community. Parents, coaches, support teams, players, doctors, physics therapists and many other “stake holders” have already joined the WTCA as a Pro member.

Do you award scholarships for coaches to become members or conference atendees?

YES ABSOLUTELY. Even though the number of scholarships are subject to change we offer up to 10 delegates a scholarship entry to the New York Conference each year. Please apply to the WTCA via email if you would like to be considered for one of these opportunities.

If its not just for female coaches why is it called the women's tennis coaching association?

The association name says it all: The WOMEN’S TENNIS coaching association. So any coach of any gender male, female or non-binary working with a female player is essentially involved in women’s tennis coaching – add association to that and you have the WTCA. A coaching association exclusive to female coaches would likely be named The Women Tennis Coaches Association or something similar.

I joined as a member and i want to cancel my membership?

We would be really sorry to see you go because you being part of our global community is very important to us. If you wish to cancel you membership please email us within 14 days of your renewal date and we will refund you membership contribution in the full amount paid minus a 10% processing fee. WTCA membership renews automatically unless the member opts out of this at the time of sign up.

Can males become members of the WTCA?

YES Absolutely! The primary goal of the WTCA is to educate all male and female coaches working with female players.

At the moment the WTCA does not have an insurance policy. We are not in the business of certifying people as coaches – we leave that to our other partners.

Refunds and Cancellations – Non-emergency

We understand that sometimes “life happens” with unexpected circumstances and emergencies. However, we also hope you understand that due to the highly customized nature of the WTCA Conferences, and limited number of attendee sports late cancellations have serious implications for our planning and budgeting. For this reason we have the following refund policy in place: If you cannot attend the Conference, you may transfer your registration to another attendee, request a refund, or leave the fee paid with the WTCA as payment towards the same conference hosted the following year. However, requests to leave fees to apply to a future conference must be received no less than 30 days prior to the conference opening date.

There will be no penalty for cancellations received on or before the date 30 days prior to the first day of an annual conference. The full amount paid minus a 10% processing fee will be refunded.

A cancellation fee of 50% of registration costs will be applied for cancellations received between 29 to 10 days before the annual conference.

No refund will be issued for cancellations received less than 10 days before the first day of the annual conference, unless in accordance with the Emergency Policy below. Transfers can only be made if requested by a deadline of 10 days prior to the conference.

All cancellations, requests for transfer or requests to apply a payment to future conferences must be sent in writing via e-mail to sarah@wtcatennis.org. Telephone requests will not be honored. Please email cancellations, if possible, and expect confirmation within two days.

WTCA is not responsible for problems beyond our control such as weather conditions, campus conditions, prepaid parking, prepaid tours, etc. No refunds will be given in these situations. The final decision on refunds rests with the WTCA President and CEO.

Emergency Illness or Death of Registrant or Immediate Family Member
Refunds may be granted if an attendee is unable to attend the conference due to a family death, illness, or other extraordinary circumstance.  In such a circumstance the WTCA must be contacted by e-mail sarah@wtcatennis.org. Refunds will still be subject to the 10% processing fee.
