Fast reaction balls
Coach feeds ball in very fast and deep, works on quick hands and feet.
Band skips
Band can be worn around ankles or above knees – player needs to keep tension on the mini band.
Heavy feeds
Coach feeds in a heavy topspin ball, forcing the player to work hard to hit a heavy ball in return.
Fast net drops, forehand
Helps player get their racquet head under the ball and brush up.
Alternating swing volleys
Hand feed shoulder heigh swing volley. Be sure to give player enough time to prepare for each shot.
Taking ball on the rise
Coach feed and over arm pitch into the ground that bounces up to players shoulder height. Player needs to take feed at the peak of the bounce.
Hopping forehand swing volleys
Hopping on one leg swing volleys

Player works to create space for the correct swing path on the forehand
Defense to swing volley
Hand feed to swing volley in an x pattern
Front foot hop forehand
Sets of 5 – 10 short balls with rest in between. Make sure player gets to the side of the ball transfers their body weight through contact. Player should push off the back leg transferring all of their body weight onto the front foot then hop, landing on the front foot first.
Deep short movement – Forehand
Player focuses on a quick drop step back followed by getting the back foot up to the shorter ball
Hand feeds moving forehand
Players need to create their own pace as the hand fed ball has no speed on it. Set length varies depending on training goal.
