Sarah Stone is the director of the WTCA Academy. Our program is a homeschooling program operating at the Cerritos Tennis Center in Los Angeles California.

Training Week.

  • Tuesday: 10.30am – 12.00pm | 1.00pm – 3.00pm
  • Wednesday: 10.30am – 12.00pm | 1.00pm – 3.00pm
  • Thursday 10.30am – 12.00pm | 1.00pm – 3.00pm

Our program is for high-performance players working towards division one college tennis or the professional tennis tour. We focus on technical and strategic development.  Our commitment is to maintain a 4:1 student/coach ratio for all sessions. With players working in a small group, they get the critical attention that they need in order to maximize their potential.

Session Dates:

Fall 2019: September 10 – November 21.

Made up class dates for missed sessions:

September 30 | October 21 | November 18

Students that complete all classes are welcome to join the makeup classes as COMPLIMENTARY extra sessions.

 

Winter 2019: December 3 – 18

January 21 – March 30

Cerritos

Training with is in Cerritos California will help you take your game to the next level. With 14 hard courts and two indoor courts coming for the winter season, this is the best place to train in Southern California. Practice sessions focus on footwork and prehabilitation, video analysis, tactical awareness, point construction, between point routines and many other areas of player development.

The WTCA Academy coaching team is first class. Our coaches have experience working with players from 3 years old – Grand Slam champions. 

THE HOMESCHOOL PROGRAM

Students have the opportunity to combine their studies with the rigorous demands of a high-performance tennis training program. We offer private space for exam taking alone with and air-conditioned quiet area for students to study before and on-court session.

 

Sarah Stone

An Australian native, professional tennis coach, Sarah Stone has been coaching on the WTA tour for over 10 years. A former professional player, Stone has a vast amount of experience at the very top of women’s tennis. Currently, she is the coach of American Fed Cup player Alexa Glatch. Formerly, Sarah was the coach of Samantha Stosur who was a 3-time grand slam champion whilst under her tutelage. Sarah Stone is the founder and CEO of the Women’s Tennis Coaching Association and is the chairperson of the Women’s Tennis board at the Professional Tennis Registry.

Sarah’s teaching style has a very strong technical element, as it is her belief that technique must be sound in order to stand up to the pressures of the highest level of professional tennis. Working with a player is not just a job, it is a way of life, both a mentoring position and a confident. Developing world-class tennis players requires strength, respect, trust, and integrity and above all else an unwavering commitment to the journey. 

George Wang

George was ranked as high as third nationally as a junior player in Canada also represented Chinese Taipei at the ITF world junior cup. He received a division one tennis scholarship at DePaul University in Chicago where he competed at number one singles and doubles as a team captain and his senior year. George obtained his masters of science degree in sports management at Henderson State University where he also served as a graduate assistant coach for the men’s program.

In the last decade, George has mentored many tennis players at different levels including the top-level professionals, NCAA, regional club members as well as kids summer camps. Before coming to Cerritos, George spent several years on the ATP/WTA tours as a touring coach for many Taiwanese players including Chia Jung Chuang who reached a career-high ranking of number five in the world in the WTA doubles rankings.
