Bio

A native of Southern California, Lucile studied art at UCLA and worked in the motion picture business, the travel industry and adult education before taking up tennis.  After captaining USTA Adult League teams for several years she met Oscar Wegner and began training in his Modern Tennis Methodology.  “Before I was introduced to MTM I struggled to improve my game beyond the 3.0 level and attributed lack of ability for my failure to advance.  It turned out to be instruction in optimal technique that I had been lacking.  I was so impressed with the simplicity and effectiveness of Oscar’s methodology that I decided to make it my profession.  Now I help other players to discover their natural athletic ability and realize their potential in tennis.

As a Certified Modern Tennis Methodology Coach specializing in teaching beginning/intermediate adults and children (NTRP 2.0-4.0) as well as individual and team strategy and advanced/high-performance technique on request, Lucile offers private, semi-private and group lessons in Southern California.  She has been extensively trained by Oscar Wegner, has assisted him in many private lessons, conferences, seminars and clinics throughout the United States. She also serves in a volunteer capacity as General Manager of MTMCA (Modern Tennis Methodology Coaches Association). As a Level IV Pro/Tester Lucile enjoys administering the coaching certification program for MTMCA and coaching coaches wishing to become more familiar with the Wegner method.

Lucile has been Assistant Tennis Coach at Ventura High School and Tennis Instructor to pre-kindergarten through middle school students at the prestigious Ojai Valley School, tennis program director for 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls at the CAPE Charter School in Camarillo, and currently offers tennis classes for children, adults and seniors through the Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District in Camarillo and The Conejo Recreation & Park District in Thousand Oaks, CA.

In support of Tennis Kids For Life, Inc. a non-profit organization which promotes the growth of tennis via MTMCA, Lucile donates her time to her local community by offering weekly MTM tennis lessons at no charge.

Lucile is a USPTA Recreational Coach and member of the USTA.  In addition to teaching she assists at USPTA & USTA events, and participates in various tennis activities throughout Southern California.
